This limited edition Ulysse Nardin Freak "Black Out" is a horological aficianados dream! Created for the Only Watch 2009 auction, this piece still boasts all of the features of the previous freak watches, with an edgier, darker color palette. The case is made of 18K white gold as well as the bezel, which when manually wound will set the time. The dial is a cool shade of black with red toned hands which indicate the hours and minutes.
The dial and movement are blended to create a fantastic design that offers an interesting view into watch mechanics while showing the time. The dial is quite legible and displays mechanics such as the balance wheel and escapement, including a gear train into the minute hand. One other uniue feature of this timepiece is the carousel tourbillon which has an amazing 7 day power reserve! The case back is transparent to further show off the watch's mechanics, and the strap is a fine black crocodile leather with a deployment clasp.
